What the generators do with what you type

The letter generators on Milieu run entirely in your web browser. The choices you make and the text you enter are used to assemble a letter on your device. They are not transmitted to our servers and are not stored by us.

One exception: your own signature block (your name, credentials, practice, and phone number) can be saved in your browser’s local storage so you do not have to retype it. It stays on your device and you can clear it by clearing your browser data.

Patient information

The generators do not ask for patient names, dates of birth, member numbers, or other identifiers, and we ask that you do not enter them. Milieu is not designed to receive protected health information and does not act as a business associate under HIPAA.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies, does not record anything you type into a form, and does not track you across other sites. The data we see is which pages are visited, from which country and device type, and nothing about who you are.

Email list

If you subscribe to updates, the form sends your email address directly from your browser to Buttondown, which hosts the list. We never receive or store the address on our own servers. Buttondown sends a confirmation email before adding you, keeps a record of which page you subscribed from, and lets you unsubscribe with one click from any message. We send a few emails a year and do not share the list with anyone.
